Why Youth Camp?

Summer is here, and school is out! Students do not have to turn in assignments, study for exams, or have to sit at a desk for seven hours. Those things are now replaced with swimming, backyard cookouts, and family vacations. As a student, I enjoyed hearing that last bell ring and seeing what summer […]

When the Doors Do Not Open

Remember that moment when God called you into ministry? I bet it was an amazing experience that was engrained in your spiritual walk with him. All of us have had different moments where God pushed us into his calling and purpose for our lives. Yours might have been an altar experience at a youth camp. […]

What Fruits are We Selling?

Wait a minute! Church bullying? That doesn’t make any sense. Isn’t bullying supposed to just stay with the “tough guy” at school? I have seen friends get excited about their new callings and tell me “Jon; I felt God calling me to be a missionary!” As I hear what God is doing in my colleague’s life, I rejoice with them. A few weeks passed, and the atmosphere of camp is no longer. We are back into the routine of studying, homework, and tests. Yep, we’re back at school…

Campus Ministry and Church Involvement

Today, I started my third year at Louisiana State University! I was excited about getting back into the swing of things including church involvement in Baton Rouge, campus ministry, and be able to catch up with a few of my friends from past classes. As I was walking around the Union, I started to think about when I was a Freshman. I remember being excited and nervous about the new experience but determined to do my best. Last year, I spoke in a college and career ministry about being involved in campus ministry and how to say connected with your walk with God while dealing with the stresses of an exam, countless projects, and being away from home. During this lesson, I was teaching to myself as well, and I would like to share with other college students who are starting this semester…
